In short
The short version: our tools are accurate implementations of standard formulas, but they know nothing about your circumstances. Verify anything with financial, medical, legal or academic consequences with a qualified professional.
1. General information only
Everything on SmartDigitalTips — every tool, calculator, converter and article — is provided for general information and convenience. It does not constitute professional advice of any kind and should not be treated as a substitute for it.
We take accuracy seriously and implement standard, published formulas correctly. But a formula applied to numbers you entered cannot account for your circumstances, and that gap is where the risk lives.
2. Financial calculators
Our loan, compound interest, ROI, margin, break-even and discount calculators use the same standard formulas that banks and accountants use, and the arithmetic is correct.
They cannot account for fees, insurance, taxes, rate changes, early repayment charges, your jurisdiction, your tax position or your risk tolerance. Treat every figure as a well-informed estimate and confirm anything binding with a qualified financial adviser, accountant or the lender's own illustration.
3. Health-related tools
Our BMI calculator implements the standard formula exactly. The metric itself has real and well-documented limitations: it cannot distinguish muscle from fat, it does not account for where weight is carried, and it is unreliable for athletes, older adults, pregnant people and children.
Nothing on this site is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a doctor or other qualified health professional about any question regarding your health, and never disregard professional advice because of something you read here.
4. Academic tools
Our GPA and grade calculators use standard weighted methods, but grade point scales and assessment rules vary substantially between institutions, countries and even departments.
Always check your institution's published conversion table and regulations. Results from these tools are estimates for planning purposes and carry no official standing.
5. Developer and security tools
Our JWT decoder decodes tokens for inspection and does not verify signatures — never trust an unverified token's claims in application code. Our hash generator produces cryptographic digests that are unsuitable for password storage, which requires a purpose-built slow algorithm such as bcrypt, scrypt or Argon2.
Our password generator uses your browser's cryptographic random source and produces genuinely strong passwords, but no tool can protect a password you then reuse, share or store insecurely.
6. SEO tools
Our SEO tools analyse content you provide against published guidance and observed conventions. Search engines do not publish their ranking algorithms, and those algorithms change frequently.
No tool can guarantee a ranking, and any service that claims otherwise should be treated with suspicion.
7. File processing
Our PDF and image tools modify files within your browser. We strongly recommend keeping your original files — image compression in particular is lossy and irreversible, and quality cannot be recovered from a compressed copy.
We are not liable for any loss or corruption of data arising from use of these tools.
8. External links
Our content sometimes links to external sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. A link is not an endorsement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on any tool or content on this site. Your use of the site is at your own risk. See our Terms of Service for the full position.
This document is written in plain English for a website that processes everything in your browser. It is provided in good faith and is not legal advice. If you are adapting it for your own site, have it reviewed by a qualified adviser first.
